Torres currently conducts Personal Security Detail (PSD), Counterinsurgency training, and briefings for incoming U.S. military and civilian personnel and teams assigned to the U.S. Ambassador’s PSDs and for the U.S. Army Military Police Quick Reaction Force (QRF) and Security teams. These instructors are also permanently assigned to each of these teams as PSD operators, cultural advisors, and linguists. Each carries weapons and participates in all PSD and QRF operations. They also conduct training in high threat driving SOPs, PSD SOPs, emergency medical first aid, IED Defeat/Counter IED, AK-47 weapons familiarization and weapons qualification, cultural awareness, and basic Arabic and Kurdish communications. All Torres security teams hold security clearances at the Secret or Top Secret levels and have earned degrees at the bachelor or advanced levels. These teams have provided these services since July 2005 and were part of the Torres team that earned the U.S. State Department’s Excellence in Service Award.
